Trip Report: Vermont Camping
I decided to take the weekend and bring Po on his first outdoor camping adventure. A couple of years ago while I was still driving Sirius Black, I found a nice set of dispersed campsites in southern Vermont. They seemed to be off the beaten path a bit and not many people stayed in them, so that was a win for me. There is nothing quite like spending some alone time in the woods.
It clearly had rained in the area as I was pulling in to camp, so things were a bit slick and muddy. I was pleasantly surprised at how well Po seemed to handle everything. The best part was that a couple of the sites were definitely inaccessible to anything but an SUV, so I made sure to capitalize on that and get a nice, secluded spot. The only thing that didn’t impress me on this trip was the stock lighting on the 4Runners. I rolled in to camp fairly late and the stock halogen bulbs were not very confidence-inspiring as I was heading down the trails. But not to worry. That will be fixed very, very soon…
Also decided to bring some of my camera gear and do some timelapses of the stars. It’s really quite breathtaking to see the way the stars move throughout the night.
