Mod 8: BlueSea Battery Monitor

Yet again, another install from Sirius Black getting transplanted into Po. This is a simple one.

I picked up this single battery monitor from BlueSea for Sirius Black so I could keep an eye on the health of my battery while out in the woods. It’s a simple little device honestly. You connect the leads to you battery, and from there it will give you a readout of the current voltage. The battery monitor even features an alarm that will beep VERY loudly if it detects too much drain on the battery. This is very useful if you want to run some exterior lights or other devices at night when the 4Runner is parked for the night.

Considering I only have one battery (for now), I definitely wanted to make sure this made it's way in to Po. Running the wires is stupid easy, but finding a place to mount it was not as easy. I wanted some place that was visible, yet out of the way during day to day driving so I don't have too many things trying to grab my attention.

I found this spot right next to the factory switches to be perfect, as the steering wheel blocks it completely from view when driving. But I can look down or look through the window (if outside the rig) to check it without a problem. I was going to play around with the mounting a bit more, but this spot ended up being perfect after using it for a little bit. The less road distractions the better, so this spot is a-okay with me.

Oh, and you can see the ARB compressor switch all wired up too!
