Mod 2: Personalization
What’s the point of a vehicle if you aren’t going to make it your own? That’s the theme of this simple post. I love collecting patches from the places I have traveled in the 4Runner. Unfortunately, this one being relatively new, we haven’t been able to go on many adventures yet. However, I decided that the legacy of my 2003 4Runner (Sirius Black) needed to be carried on, which is why the patches had to be moved to Po. Good thing they can velcro right to the ceiling!
Seeing as this is a black-and-white “panda” build, it was time to ditch some of the factory chrome and blackout the emblems. I ordered a blackout kit from a company called NoxLux, but it seems that they don’t sell it anymore. That’s a bummer, but it seems like “Southeast Toyota” sells the same kit on Amazon.
Anyways, installing this kit is as easy as peeling 3M tape and sticking it. To compliment the blackout, I decaled the rear windows with a matte black american flag and boy does it look amazing. A bit of a pain to install, but so worth it in the end.
